Common Questions...

  • What AGE does my child have to be to be a camper?
    • For Summer Camp: Your child must turn 9 before August 31st and 19 after August 31st.
    • For Retreats: Each retreat is different see details above.

  • Is there a WAIT LIST?
YES. Click 'Wait List' in table below, when registration is full. If there is no 'Wait List' link, it means all five (5) spots on the wait list have been filled. Please check back as often as you like to see if a spot has opened as any cancellation is immediately reflected.
  • NEW What are the policies about MEDICINES?
    SPECIAL NOTICE ABOUT MEDICINES
Camp Swamp will now provide and have on hand at the Medical Station common over the counter medications (OTCs). (See List.)

DO NOT BRING ANY OF THESE MEDICINES
    or
COMPLETE A MEDICATION ADMINISTERED LOG FORM FOR ANY LISTED OTCs.

Instead, list on your child's registration form and/or in the Health Section of your child's Student Record within your Swamp Account all medications he or she takes as needed--these are typically OTCs--so the Medical Staff can dispense appropriately.

All prescribed or regularly-taken medicines are to be checked-in using the Medication Administered Log Form and given to the medical staff on arrival at camp. The form is to be downloaded and completed prior to check-in.

    New this year:

    1. Regarding MEDICINE CONTAINERS: Please send enough medication for the entire time at camp in the original package/bottle that identifies the prescribing physician, name of drug, dosage, and frequency. NOTE: If medicines are brought in any other container other than the original, you will be asked to visit the local pharmacy (about 15 minutes away) to obtain the original packaging at your own time and expense. Having a "Pill Counter" box for daily dispersion is okay; however, the original container must be present as well.

    2. Regarding EPIPENS: Camp Swamp stores epipens in strategic locations for emergency purposes pursuant to GA Statue O.C.G.A. § 31-1-15; however, these are not for general consumption. If your child requires an epi-pen, whether by choice or necessity, you are expected to provide that epipen and communicate this with the Medical Staff and the counselor treating it as any other prescribed medicine according to our check-in policies and procedures. Do NOT expect us to provide an epipen for you. Epi-pens are to be kept on the campers person at all times.

NO MEDICINE IS TO BE KEPT BY THE CAMPER IN HIS OR HER CABIN.
The medical staff oversees the administration of all medications.

Medications are generally administered at mealtimes and/or when specifically prescribed. We will do our best to remind your child to take his/her medications, but it is not the responsibility of the counselors or the staff to remind your child to take his/her medicines. IF YOUR CHILD IS UNABLE TO FULFILL THIS RESPONSIBILITY, then perhaps he/she is not mature enough to attend camp.

If there have been any changes in medical or emotional history since you filled out the medical form, please alert the medical staff on arrival.

    Bring to check-in

    Ask the Medical Staff...
  • Is there a DEPOSIT?
A $100 non-refundable deposit is required for each camper for each week, which is applied to the total fee.

A camper can switch weeks based on availability, if necessary.

NO DEPOSIT REQUIRED for Family Camp.
